Flight Centre: Local Service with a Global Reach

From tailor-made holidays to business trips, Flight Centre meets every travel need

At a time when many High Street travel agencies are closing, Flight Centre is bucking the trend. The company is flourishing and collecting industry accolades for high quality service: it recently retained the title of England and Scotland’s Leading Travel Agency and last year won Best Large Independent Travel Retailer at the prestigious British Travel Awards.

‘Often people look at our name and assume that we only sell flights,’ says Justina Lise, one of the five experienced Travel Consultants based at Flight Centre’s King Street branch.

‘Of course, we do – and, as an international business, we’re able to offer competitive prices on both short and long haul journeys. But, in fact, most of our bookings come from putting together tailormade packages, whether that’s an adventure holiday, city break, cultural trip or relaxing beach escape.

‘That’s why we always take the time to chat to clients before we make recommendations: the more we know about them, their preferences and, of course, their budget, the better the service that we can provide. The personal approach is very important to us. We’re part of the W6 community – we all live locally – and we enjoy getting to know our customers.’

Business travel is another Flight Centre speciality. ‘In Hammersmith, that’s a particularly strong market,‘ explains Justina. ‘When a company has an account with us they know that they’ll have one person as a dedicated point of contact (with a secondary as cover) who knows exactly what they need and is on hand should any issues arise.’

The expert Flight Centre team is also happy to offer practical, up-to-date advice on visas, travel insurance and currency exchange. ‘We’re so lucky living in London,’ says Justina. ‘You can fly just about anywhere in the world for £600-700.

‘The one travel tip I would give is, always book in advance if possible! I’m afraid that amazing last-minute deals are now few and far between and we’re seeing the best rates six to eight months ahead – and even longer for peak seasons.’

About Editor

Online editor at Keep Things Local

KEEP THINGS LOCAL IS A MEDIA BUSINESS WITH A UNIQUE LOCAL FOCUS

The company publishes four flagship magazines (Chelsea Locals, Chiswick Locals, Richmond Locals and Hammersmith Locals) with more launches planned in London and across the UK. The prime focus of each of these quarterly magazines is to showcase and support the independent traders and small businesses who do so much to give these areas their individual retail character and community spirit. This is achieved through dedicated advertorials which are written, designed and photographed by an experienced team lead by Neil McKelvie.

In every issue, these advertorials are complemented by feature articles which turn the spotlight on different aspects of neighbourhood life and interviews with notable local figures. In addition to appearing in the magazines, every advertorial is also published in the Keep Things Local newsletters, on the website and on social media. Get in touch to be featured in our Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring issues.
