Being in Hammersmith Locals and Chiswick Locals magazines has been enormously beneficial to my painting and decorating business. The Keep Things Local editorial team have been very professional, friendly and fun to work with. The magazines are interesting and informative with pieces about local business owners such as myself and entrepreneurs and people really do pick it up, read it and keep it when it falls onto their mat. I will continue to use Keep Things Local to maintain local publicity and I would highly recommend talking to the editorial team quickly as space fills up fast. If you need more exposure for your business – you’ll certainly get it!
Wyndham House, our Chiswick butcher shop, featured in the Chiswick Locals Winter issue and the results were fantastic. Sales were high making us very happy. I was hesitant about having my face on the cover but it really works as a talking point with existing customers and a conversation opener and friendly introduction to new customers who have just moved to the area. Chiswick Locals connects my community and gives businesses like ours on the High Road a boost. As soon as we placed copies of the magazine on the counter they were gone. We are going in the Spring issue as part of our local and online marketing strategy.
The Carpetstore team is always crystal-clear about costs (including underlay and fitting), ensuring there won’t be any unexpected bills landing on your doormat. The only surprise should be a good one; of just how wonderful your new carpet looks when it is in situ in your home.

A pub at the heart of its community, The Thatched House is equally welcoming to couples, families, social groups and corporate events. The chef specialises in using seasonal produce, and changes the menu each week. Sunday roasts and moules marinieres are particularly popular. They also offer lots of gluten-free and vegan dishes. The pub hosts lively music events, including a regular opera evening and live jazz. It is also perfect for wedding receptions, birthdays and even wakes, with up to 70 guests. A stone’s throw from Ravenscourt Park, the pub has many dog walkers pop in for a drink. So that their four-legged companions needn’t miss out, there is even a non-alcoholic drink called Bottom Sniffer, a fitting reward for a tired pooch.
You may have to search quite hard to find The Andover Arms in the heart of Brackenbury Village, but the quest is well worthwhile. Tucked away in the terraced streets, it is the epitome of an old-fashioned, intimate English pub. In fact, the locals will tell you that they regularly appear in photographs taken by tourists eager to sample a proper London pub atmosphere and lured to Hammersmith by The Andover’s impressively high rating on TripAdvisor. The pub has such a cosy feel. It’s homely and you feel you’re part of a local community, everyone talks to you and is just so friendly.

At London Auctions, a key component of the all-round experience is the stylish L’Art Café, managed by Sandra Saxinger. Whatever the style, colour or cut, Adam and Potsie provide first-class professional hair care with a delightful personal touch. Adam and Potsie are familiar, well respected faces on the local hairdressing scene. For 15 years they ran the Essensuals/Toni&Guy salon in Hammersmith, building a 20-strong team and attracting a loyal following. When that venture came to an end, and after a spell at Toni&Guy in Chiswick, Adam decided it was time to launch their own salon. ‘We had lots of clients in Chiswick and Hammersmith, so this location is perfect.’ Our mission is to give the best standard of service we can and aim to make anyone who comes to us leave with an example of how it is supposed to be done.

St Michael and All Angels is a church within the Anglican Catholic tradition of the Church of England. It was built by the architect Norman Shaw as a focal point of the Bedford Park estate, for the worship of Almighty God and to serve the needs of the community. Our mission is to share the experience of the love of God in Jesus Christ with all people through worship, education and service. The Church is open each day for people to spend time quietly in a holy place, to pray, light a candle or just look around. At other times, it is full to overflowing, as hundreds of people of all ages come here to worship – not just at Easter and Christmas but on Mothering Sunday, Harvest Festival and St Michael’s own Patronal Festival in September (see also Services for more details)
