‘Such a wonderful addition to the area. A fab spot by the river to grab a drink or a bite to eat. A fabulous new facility.’ – Jennifer Meehl
‘We want Fulham Pier to become the cultural, hospitality and social focal point for the SW6 and wider West London community,’ explains Duncan Mitchell, the Creative Programming Manager. ‘Our spectacular location speaks for itself, and over Spring and Summer we’ll be hosting an exciting, eclectic range of events for all ages and interests. We can’t wait to welcome everyone down to the riverside!’

Fulham Pier, which is in effect the sweeping Thames-facing building behind Fulham FC’s Riverside stand, has completely transformed a hitherto inaccessible, neglected stretch of wasteland into a buzzing hive of activity.
The core facilities are first-class: they include Riverside Market, a food hall with over 10 independent kitchens, bars and shops; Brasserie Constance curated by Michelin-starred chef Adam Byatt; the Orange Box, a venue hosting cabaret and comedy nights and film screenings; the Children’s Little Leaf Library; a luxury Hotel with bedrooms looking out onto the river; a Spa (coming soon) with an exclusive selection of treatments; and fully equipped Conference and Events facilities for hire.
‘We’re delighted that so many locals have already made visiting Fulham Pier part of their regular routine,’ says Duncan. ‘That might be dropping in for a coffee or cocktail and bite to eat, joining in a Pub Quiz, attending fitness and relaxation classes or bringing the children along to our very popular Family Sundays.

‘Of course, during the coming Easter and May half-term holidays we will also be organising a dedicated programme of fun children’s activities and entertainment, including soft play in the Little Leaf Library and face painting and crafting workshops (check the website for up-to-date details and dates).’
Of course, the University Boat Race (4 April) is a red-letter day in the Pier’s annual calendar. ‘Last year an astonishing 4000-6000 people came to watch, and the building wasn’t even properly open,’ recalls Duncan.
‘This year every level (there are seven) will be “active”: for example, on the ground level visitors will be able to test their skills on a realistic rowing sim and there will be live music, DJ sets and an after-party on the Boardwalk. Touch wood, the weather stays fine well into the evening as the sunsets here are superb.’
As part of the Pier project, the riverside walkway has been opened for the first time in 150 years, so completing an unbroken connection between Hammersmith and Putney Bridges. ‘That initiative has also created interesting opportunities for us,’ says Duncan. ‘On Saturday 18 April, there will be a Fun Run in support of the charitable Fulham FC Foundation: it will start here and finish in Brentford.’
Duncan and his team have chosen the traditional British seaside holiday as the main Summer theme at the Pier. ‘There will be end-of-the-pier games, candyfloss and fun beach-themed competitions, music on the Boardwalk and in the Orange Box and we’ll be showing all the major sporting events – the World Cup, Wimbledon and Commonwealth Games – on big screens.
‘Also, in Spring and Summer in particular our superb Conference and Events spaces make the perfect setting for private parties, family celebrations and corporate events of all sizes.
‘From the outset, the vision for this incredible building was to make it a 365-day destination. This will be our first comprehensive Spring and Summer programme, and it’s going to be memorable. Come down to the Pier, find out what we have to offer and make a day of it – you will be given a warm welcome!’
