Like many professional chefs, Happy Roan caught the food bug young, while watching his mother cooking at home. His ambition was always to own a restaurant and, unlike many chefs, he achieved that dream, running Indian Villa in Ealing Common for five successful years.
Having sold that business, he opened Gazzab in Starch Green, near the junction of Paddenswick Road and Askew Road, in 2024. ‘I wanted to create a fine dining experience that celebrates the incredible diversity of North and South Indian cuisine and introduces our most loved regional dishes,’ explains Happy.
‘The menu respects authentic cooking methods while presenting the food in a sophisticated contemporary style. Customers can choose from aromatic curries, slow-braised lamb specialities, lighter coconut, curry leaf and seafood flavours and a wide range of delicious vegetarian and vegan options. Each dish is prepared using traditional spices and fresh ingredients to create vibrant, balanced flavours and we cater for food intolerances and spicing preferences.’
Gazzab’s experienced Front of House Manager Aiste creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere. ‘First impressions and attention to detail count, and we do our very best to make every customer feel at home,’ she says. ‘We offer a Fine Dining and Set menu, a popular Sunday Buffet, daily Happy Hour with two-for-one cocktails and Prosecco and, on Mondays, every diner is offered a complimentary glass of wine.
‘The restaurant itself is available for family parties and celebrations and corporate events, a private dining room accommodates 20 people, and we also provide outside catering for all occasions.’
Gazzab has brought India’s rich culinary heritage to West London. ‘With such exceptional cuisine and service, there’s no need to travel into the West End to enjoy a memorable dining experience in elegant surroundings,’ says Happy. ‘We look forward to seeing you soon.’
