‘At the workshop, someone on the team was always around to pick up the phone,’ recalls Steve Bonnici. ‘When I switched to a two-man mobile operation, and often we’re both out and about, I felt that I wasn’t providing the very best response. Steve ran Chiswick Computers from his shop for 23 years. In that time he built a reputation for expertise, honest advice and excellent customer care. ‘For my purposes, I just wanted key information: who you are, where are you from, how do we contact you and what is the issue. If we’re not available the line will go straight to Lucy who “picks up” and takes the information (she can also answer questions about us and what we do).
‘Within 10 seconds of the call, I receive a text message with all the details and 30 seconds later, a follow-up email. Then, of course, I ring back at the first possible opportunity.’
