‘We can display 100 ranges in our showroom and we have at least another 100 in the basement,’ says Clay Miller, who co-owns the Carpetstore with his brother Joe. ‘So, if a customer is looking for something out of the ordinary – perhaps an environmentally-friendly alternative to traditional yarn – we usually have a pattern book to suit their taste and budget.
‘Of course, some people prefer to do their own research on the manufacturers’ websites and buy online. With leading companies such as Alternative Flooring, they will then be directed to the nearest supplier – and for W6, W14 and W4 that’s us. Once payment is confirmed, the item is despatched to us and we will deliver at no charge to local areas.
‘If the order is for a rug, and Alternative has a fantastic high-quality choice, we can also lay it out using a product called Rug Stop, which goes underneath and prevents any slipping around (there is a small charge for that service).’
Over the last year the Carpetstore has built a very successful relationship with Amtico, the UK’s market-leader in luxury vinyl tiles. ‘They approached us, which was flattering,’ explains Clay. ’This month we will be taking delivery of two new Amtico collections: the premium brand called Signature and First, which is the cost-effective entry-level range. Both come in strikingly original designs and are perfect for every style of space.’
Clay and Joe use their own specialist fitters and all their carpets are guaranteed to be moth-free. If you are investing in flooring for the home, office or a communal property, you will receive excellent, straightforward advice.
