Matt specialises in West London – he was born and lives in the area – and he covers the full spectrum of residential searches. ‘I am independent and I represent the purchaser,’ he explains. ‘While an agent can only show what’s on their books, I cover the entire market for opportunities.’ Matt takes a detailed brief from each client. ‘No two are ever the same, so I drill down beyond budget and number of bedrooms; for example, does the client wish to be near a school? An open space or shops? Good local transport links? And if their budget is unrealistic, I say so.’
Armed with this information, Matt searches for properties matching the brief. ‘I see as many appropriate places as it takes for as long as it takes. I then present the most promising prospects and arrange viewings. I’ll also conduct negotiations to try to get the best value and, if required, can put clients in touch with a solicitor or contractors. My approach is personal. I take great pleasure in finding my clients their ideal homes.’
