‘Over 10 years ago I suffered a severe back injury that left me with two slipped discs and damaged vertebrae,’ recalls Allison Huff. ‘I consulted a leading spinal surgeon and the MRI scans were not looking positive: realistically, I was facing the prospect of a lifetime of injections and pharmaceuticals.’

By pure chance, it was at this low point that Allison found a solution that has transformed her back condition and career. ‘While visiting my parents in Texas, I went to an Infrared Sauna studio for the first time. I was blown away. After three visits my pain had gone: I was so inspired that I made up my mind to bring the concept to London, where it was still unknown.’

The positive health and wellbeing results that come from safely raising our core temperature at a cellular level, so kick-starting the body’s natural healing processes, have long been scientifically proven and accepted by the medical community.

‘We opened in March and have already built partnerships with traditional practitioners,’ says Allison. ‘We have referrals from surgeons (including my own), dermatologists, rheumatologists, cardiologists, physical therapists and personal trainers, all of whom recognise the value of Infrared Light Therapy. It is one of the most pro-active ways to feel rejuvenated inside and out – clients often say that they leave floating – and to increase the chances of living a healthy, more active life.’

While a traditional sauna uses hot air to heat the body from the outside in, infrared light heats it from the inside out. ‘We have four single infrared pods and one premier two-person cabin-style sauna,’ explains Allison. ‘In the pods, clients lie down and trap the hot air inside with a towel: then, it’s simply a case of relaxing in private and enjoying a deep tissue sweat for 30 minutes while always breathing fresh air.

‘To take advantage of all the preventative and remedial medical benefits, we recommend integrating regular visits into a weekly wellness regime (flexible rate options are available).
