The knowledgeable in-store team is happy to advise on styles and the most suitable practical choice for a particular room, such as a heavy-traffic area. Also, Clay and Joe use their own expert fitters on every job. ‘Having skilled, reliable fitting teams is very important when working with materials such as Unnatural Flooring’s man-made sisal, a line that has been incredibly popular over the last year,’ says Clay.
‘The carpets are made from woven vinyl and they are washable, hard-wearing and stain-resistant. However, they can be tricky to fit: the process is to stick the underlay to the floor and then stick the carpet to the underlay. That means every contour is revealed: it takes real experience to work with those types of product.
‘In addition, our fitters will take up old carpets, move furniture, trim doors on-site and lay plyboard and hardboard. And, of course, we tell clients if we think a surface needs attention before a carpet is put down: they can then make an informed decision on the best way forward.’
