Last year June Henry completed a new rear loft conversion at her home in Chiswick. She chose Jason Wilkinson of West London company Whitehall Construction to be the contractor on the project, and here June recalls the experience of working with him and his team.
‘Originally, I came across Jason’s name via a neighbour who, in turn, had heard excellent reports about his work on other properties in the local area. We already had a front loft conversion with ensuite in place and our intention was to mirror that in the rear attic space. An architect had drawn up all the necessary plans and we wanted to find a builder who would follow those to the letter.
‘When we met Jason, our first impressions of him were very positive. He was calm, polite and straightforward and I immediately had a good feeling that every element of our job would be handled properly and with a clear communication process in place. That was particularly important to me as I like to be organised! ‘Throughout the build, Jason always made himself available and he visited the house regularly to check on progress. His on-site team reflected his high professional standards: they were friendly, tidy, punctual and worked hard. We continued to live in the property throughout the process and we never experienced any problems – everything went smoothly.
