As happened to many people, the pandemic prompted Chiswick resident Ian Henderson to add an exciting new dimension to his life. He founded The Pink Elephant, a passion project inspired by his cosmopolitan background – Ian was born and raised in Zimbabwe and educated in Australia – and love of food and entertaining.
‘My initial vision was to offer indulgent picnic boxes and grazing platters,’ he explains. ‘Then, post-lockdown, I realised that there was a fantastic opportunity to expand the brand and re-launch as a bespoke event styling business.
‘As a team, we have the flair and expertise to add a fabulous touch of luxury to every private or corporate celebration. Our bespoke packages feature delicious sharing platters, including cheeses, charcuterie and sweet treats from small, independent UK businesses, sustainable wines, tablescaping, glassware, floral arrangements, party favours and tasting boxes.’
The Pink Elephant has three packages of different sizes and with different menus as well as special mini-grazing boxes for children’s parties. ‘I always offer my clients the opportunity of a virtual consultation and I’m available throughout the planning of their event,’ says Ian. ‘On the day, we strive to provide a hassle-free set-up and, after the event, we only ask clients to rinse and box up glasses and pop napkins and tablecloths into a supplied linen bag for collection within 24 hours.
‘This festive season we’ll be adding a Christmas twist to our menus and marketing our popular Pink Elephant festive hampers – they make the perfect corporate or personal gift. We’ve also been busy designing our own tablescaping range of napkins, tablecloths, aprons and tea towels, and that will be launched and on sale in early November.
