Since the company was founded in 2019, Reliant LDN’s distinctive vans have become a familiar sight around W4. In that time, co-owners John Kearney and Ricky Axten have built a successful plumbing, heating and air conditioning business – it has a 9.95 out of 10 rating on Checkatrade – based to a large extent on word-of-mouth recommendation.
With a combined 36 years’ industry experience, John and Ricky can handle every domestic or commercial job, from fixing a leaking tap or faulty valve to re-fitting a bathroom. At the moment, with a long, hot summer on the horizon, keeping cool using air conditioning is a top priority for customers.
‘When you install an air con unit you are putting in a heat pump,’ explains Ricky. ‘That’s good news for homeowners: it is considered a renewable and so there’s no VAT to be paid for residential properties. Whatever the size of a space, whether the whole premises or a particular room, we can recommend and design a system that meets the client’s requirements.’
While it may be hard even to think about warming a house during summer, it is in fact the perfect time to consider servicing heating systems. ‘If you had problems last winter, it’s far better to have it checked or upgraded before you need to fire it up again,’ explains John. ‘And we are currently offering a discount on our labour charges [see below].’
John and Ricky are both accredited with leading manufacturers such as Vaillant and Worcester Bosch and they take pride in their courteous, efficient customer service. ’We offer a call-out service and give a free quotation on a per job basis before any work commences,’ says John. ‘Most importantly, we always give straightforward advice.’
