Clay and Joe Miller
Customers at The Carpetstore are always spoilt for choice. Co-owners, Clay and Joe Miller, work with 90% of industry manufacturers – often as the exclusive West London stockist – and hence they are able to showcase a huge selection of contemporary and classic carpet designs as well as made-to-measure bespoke rugs and the latest vinyl tile and laminate flooring.
Over their 25 years-plus experience in the trade, the brothers have seen many trends come and go, but the continuing demand for one innovative product has surprised even them. The carpet in question is from Unnatural Flooring and it’s a man-made alternative to sisal.
‘If you spill coffee or wine on natural sisal, the stain can’t be removed,’ explains Clay. ‘In contrast, Unnatural’s sisal-look is washable and stain-resistant. The carpets are made from woven vinyl, have the look and feel of sisal and they can be made up into rugs for patios and decking and are perfect for restaurants, offices and communal properties.’
The Carpetstore also stocks and fits stylish Louis De Poortere stair runners. Considered the market leader in design and high quality manufacturing, they are 80% woven wool Wilton, have a pre-finished edge which won’t fray and come in 12 stylish designs, 144 colours and four width sizes.
In recent years, Clay and Joe have noticed a growing preference for using vinyl tiles over wood and concrete flooring. ‘The Invictus range has proved particularly popular,’ says Clay. ‘The wood, parquet and stone-look tiles are waterproof and very hardwearing; our interactive display stand enables anyone to take a photograph of their room, download it here, scan in a sample tile, and then they’ll see what it looks like in situ.
All the carpet ranges are guaranteed to be moth-free, customers are welcome to take away swatches and The Carpetstore use their own fitters on every job. If you are investing in new flooring, you’ll receive personal service and practical advice.
