The Carpetstore – Red Carpet Treatment

A custom-made Axminster

‘I used The Carpetstore to replace my carpets. The fitters did a fantastic job. I recommend them 100%.’ – Kevin Birch

In the 25 years-plus that they have owned and run The Carpetstore, brothers Clay and Joe Miller have built up an impressive contacts book. ‘I think that we deal with 90% of industry manufacturers on a regular basis,’ confirms Clay.

‘Having such long-standing links means that we’re constantly able to refresh our ranges of classic and contemporary carpets, made-to-measure bespoke rugs, stair runners and vinyl, tile and laminate flooring. Often we are the sole West London stockist for a product.’

The latest new carpet to arrive is a man-made alternative to sisal from Fibre. ‘It is called Easycare, it comes in two designs (Herringbone and Boucle) and we have put down a sample in our showroom,’ says Clay. ‘It is totally stain-resistant and perfect for heavy-use domestic areas, offices and communal properties; you can spill anything, even red wine, and it wipes off, and it can also be used outside on decking and patios.’

One of Clay’s personal favourites is a Sedna carpet which has excellent ecocredentials. ‘The yarn is actually spun from abandoned fishing nets,’ he explains. ‘There are two qualities: a twist pile for stairs and living rooms and a Saxony, which is a luxurious deep pile for bedrooms. The quality is amazing.’

When it comes to tiles, the Invictus range is always popular. The company’s striking wood, parquet and stone-look Luxury Vinyl Tiles are waterproof, so suitable for kitchens and bathrooms, and exceptionally hard-wearing. ‘Our Invictus display stand includes an interactive screen,’ says Clay. ‘So, customers can take a photograph of any room in their home, download it here, scan in a tile, and they’ll see exactly what it looks like in situ.’

The Carpetstore use their own experienced fitters on every job and, whether you want a custom-made Axminster or a shagpile, man-made fibres or vinyl tiles, you will be spoilt for choice and receive expert advice.
