Aristone will soon be stocking its own range of frames – and all will have a uniquely Fulham connection
The next few months will be very exciting for one of Fulham’s most longstanding independent businesses. ‘We are looking forward to launching our own brand of frames in January,’ explains Ritesh, the owner of Aristone Optical. ‘And, all being well, that will coincide with the re-opening of our North End Road “home” after major renovation work.’
The bespoke Aristone range has been designed by Ritesh himself. ‘I’ve spent almost 20 years looking at and working with frames every day and I really enjoy the design process, so I thought why not! Customers will have a choice of 25 stylish unisex daywear frames, each of which comes in four colours and is made from a high quality acetate material.
‘Also, I want every frame to have a name with a Fulham connection – and that’s where I’d appreciate suggestions from the local community. It could be a road, a person, a landmark… I’m open to ideas, just email me.’
For the last few months the business has been operating from temporary premises in Walham Grove. ‘The layout of our Victorian building was severely limiting what we could do and the fixtures and fittings needed updating,’ says Ritesh. ‘At the moment we’re still on track to move back in January – I’ve been hands-on myself with the flooring, painting and decorating and installing all the new display units.
‘The re-modelled Aristone will be open-plan and allow us to retain our on-site workshop. Most importantly, there will be space for the most sophisticated equipment: for example, we’ll have state-of-the-art technology which diagnoses eye issues 10-15 years’ in advance.
‘Of course, what will never change is our fast, efficient customer service, with most glasses made within a week and a same-day service for lens cutting and urgent repairs. And, with such an extensive variety of designer frames and prescription lenses, we’ll always have a style for every taste and budget.’
