‘There are two core elements to our treatment philosophy,’ says Nicole Finn, one half of The Refine Room team with Robyn Murphy. ‘Firstly, whatever the aesthetic procedure, whether it’s Anti-Wrinkle injections, Dermal Fillers, Skin and Lip boosters or Polynucleotides, we achieve natural but noticeable results; secondly, we follow a “less-is-more” approach.’
Nicole and Robyn met while studying to become NHS Diagnostic Radiographers and they are now based at St Thomas’ Hospital. ‘We’re also passionate about aesthetics and beauty and our vision was to create a business that emphasises clinical precision, integrity and a full focus on patient care,’ explains Robyn. ‘We studied at the Derma Institute – only those with a professional medical background are accepted onto the courses – and we’re registered with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC).’
Nicole and Robyn currently work Saturdays and Sundays from the Poise Beauty Bar in Fulham (and on a mobile basis weekdays). ‘At the initial consultation we get to know each patient as an individual. It’s essential to understand what they want, discuss all the options and enable them to make informed decisions,’ says Nicole.
‘Having assessed factors such as muscle strength, skin elasticity and facial symmetry, we then create a bespoke treatment plan. That could be restoring volume and defining contours with Dermal Fillers, using Botox for softening lines or Polynucleotides to hydrate and enhance texture in delicate areas of the face. (Anti-Wrinkle procedures require a further consultation with a Prescriber, as treatments are prescription only.)
