Graham Stewart chose Whitehall Construction as the contractor to build an extension at his Richmond home. Owner Jason Wilkinson specialises in renovations, loft conversions, basements and kitchen and side return extensions, with many successful projects completed in West London over the past 10 years. Here Graham recalls the experience of working with Jason.
‘I had put out feelers looking for a builder, but without much luck. Some deemed the job not “big” enough and others quoted crazy prices. I came across Jason via his company website: it struck me as extremely professional and, most importantly, there were many detailed case studies of projects similar to mine.
‘When I met Jason, he had exactly the same professional manner. He quickly understood what I wanted and knew how to achieve it. He instilled confidence immediately, and his quote was perfectly reasonable.
‘I was given an itemised list of all materials required and the price per unit for each stage of the job. Jason was on-site all the time and he handled the ordering and receipt of materials, the management of other tradespeople and the overall smooth progress of the project.
‘I had imagined that creating the same ground level in the extension as the rest of the property might prove problematic. It did require more excavation than Jason had expected, but he wasn’t phased and any issues were soon solved. The work was completed to an excellent standard on schedule and on budget. This was my first build project and I had feared that it would be stressful. That wasn’t the case at all – I can absolutely recommend Whitehall Construction.’
