The rigorous scrutiny of the Chiswick vault operation is undertaken by a globally-respected Security Consultant. ‘They spend several days on-site with us, assessing every single element of our infrastructure, established procedures and team training,’ explains Christopher.
‘The Executive Summary of the last report stated: “The standard of security is excellent, with physical, technical and procedural security supported by well-trained, engaged staff. No risk improvement recommendations have been made.” Obviously, we were delighted to receive such objective expert validation of what we do.’
Designed by the world’s industry-leading manufacturer, the vault combines sophisticated electronics with physical protection. ‘At the planning stage, we intentionally embraced the traditional and the cutting-edge,’ recalls Christopher. ‘The premises has 24/7 perimeter and interior CCTV and integrated alarm systems, and access is controlled by computer-verified ID and fingerprint technology. In addition, the safe deposit boxes are individually alarmed and only a certain number can be open at one time.’
While most safe custody businesses limit the number of box sizes – usually, four or five – Metropolitan Safe Deposits offers a choice of 12 and at very affordable rates. ‘Our smallest box is £99 p.a and the largest is £1910 p.a. (includes £10,000 insurance),’ says Christopher.
‘Anyone can entrust us with their possessions – whether keepsakes, family jewellery, gold bars or even crypto-currency keys – and do so knowing that we will have a safety deposit box of a size and cost that suits them.’
