Consultant Gynaecologist: The Rylon Clinic – Time To Think About Fertility?

Mr Osama Naji

‘Mr Naji is a wonderful doctor. He is extremely professional, demonstrates care and empathy at all times and puts you at ease.’ – Doctify (Verified Patient)

‘I’m passionate about fertility awareness,’ explains Mr Osama Naji, a Consultant Gynaecologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital with 20 years’ experience in clinical and research practice. ‘Today, many couples delay starting a family, so it’s advisable to identify any factors that could hinder a successful pregnancy at an early stage. Then, they are easier to resolve.’

In May last year, Chiswick resident Osama founded The Rylon Clinic, a private women’s health clinic dedicated to diagnosing and treating a wide range of gynaecological problems and offering personalised fertility consultations. ‘Usually, with a new patient, the first step is
to conduct a thorough medical review and offer a comprehensive pelvic ultrasound scan.

‘Ultrasound to a Gynaecologist is like a stethoscope is to a Cardiologist. It is a non-invasive, painless imaging technique that examines the structure and function of the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes and other organs. It allows me to investigate conditions such as heavy, irregular periods, pelvic pain, cysts or fibroids that may impact fertility if not treated, and also reveals the state of the ovarian egg reserve.

‘Of course, I always take the time to explain what the results mean and discuss how to proceed. Sometimes the best approach is to monitor symptoms and if, for example, a small polyp is found, that can be simply removed during the clinic visit. I only advise surgery if absolutely necessary.’ Osama also provides early pregnancy care (up to 12 weeks) and, for patients requiring assisted IVF conception without gynaecological treatment, he can introduce them to one of the UK’s leading fertility clinics.

‘I appreciate how important it is to look after each patient with sensitivity and compassion,’ he says. ‘I’m happy to do an initial online consultation from my home office and then, if required, we arrange an appointment at my Harley Street clinic. Whenever possible, my team and I are committed to providing accurate diagnoses and effective treatments in one clinic visit.’
