Dr Hala Mahfoud
New treatments, the latest equipment, a relaxing environment… Dr Hala and her team of professional therapists deliver the very best specialist aesthetic and beauty care
As the medical profession has learned more about the body’s remarkable ability to heal and regenerate itself, so clinically-tested treatments have been developed that use these natural responses. One of the most effective, Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, is available at Dr Hala Mahfoud’s health, beauty and aesthetics clinic on New Kings Road.
‘We call PRP the vampire facial,’ smiles Dr Hala. ‘It is a proven method of harnessing a patient’s own healing system to rejuvenate skin, reduce fine lines, blemishes and wrinkles, diminish scarring and stimulate hair growth.
‘It’s a very simple procedure which only takes half an hour: blood is drawn in exactly the same way as for a sample and placed in a centrifuge. That separates the platelet-rich plasma, which is then injected into the targeted area, initiating the healing process and tissue regeneration. You can see the positive results in three to four weeks.’
Dr Hala came to the UK from Syria in 1997, working as a NHS Consultant in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Sexual Health. She founded her family-run clinic in 2017 with the vision of building a doctor-led service that offered the best aesthetic and wellbeing treatments in a safe, comfortable environment.
‘The scope of our facilities means we can tailor our approach according to a patient’s age, condition and budget – and do it all under one roof,’ says Dr Hala. ‘We have invested in the latest equipment and expanded our range of therapies, often in response to demand.
‘Two of the most popular are bespoke anti-ageing and energising IV infusions using multi-vitamins and, secondly, Mesosculpt procedures. Mesosculpt is a method of removing facial fat pockets under the eye, around the cheeks or below the chin; through painless injections loose skin is tightened and the contours of the face more clearly defined.’
Dr Hala’s clinic is one of the few in the UK with a Femi-Lift laser machine, which stimulates collagen, the protein responsible for skin elasticity. ‘Post-birth, many ladies leak when they exercise, sneeze or cough,’ she explains. ‘The Femi-Lift provides nonsurgical relief from stress urinary incontinence and also alleviates vaginal dryness and pain during sex. We also have two Harmony lasers: the XL Pro lifts and refreshes skin and is ideal for hyper-pigmentation and mole and tattoo removal and the Soprano ICE Platinum laser has revolutionised hair removal – it is fast, pain-free and suitable for all skin types.’
Among the array of other treatments offered by Dr Hala’s team are powerful HydraFacial skin cleansing, botox, fillers and herbal and chemical peels and cellulite and stretch mark reduction using a non-invasive technique combining radio-frequency and ultrasound. Warm and welcoming, Dr Hala sees all new patients herself (the initial consultation is free) and she is supported by three friendly, fully qualified therapists.
‘We understand that everyone is different,’ she says. ‘That’s why we take the time to devise a personal plan for each patient. We’re proud of what we do and we want to achieve the best outcome.’
