Home Instead Hammersmith, Fulham and Chiswick Hosts – The Virtual Dementia Tour

Home Instead Hammersmith, Chiswick, and Fulham, in partnership with Dementia Action Alliance and Training 2 Go, will host The Virtual Dementia Tour on 30th September in Hammersmith and Parsons Green.

The Virtual Dementia Tour is the only scientifically and medically proven method of giving a person with a healthy brain the experience of what dementia might be like. Invented over 18 years ago in the USA, the Virtual Dementia Tour has been experienced by over 2 million people in 17 countries and has been in the UK for over five years. Already the VDT has been adopted by 1700 care providers, 12 NHS trusts, Councils, Fire services, Police, Prisons and many more, and the tour has changed the lives of so many caring for people with dementia.

“When a person with dementia is diagnosed, we really need to support them by giving people around them a true understanding of the disease. Although some amazing training courses are available, they rarely access them. The VDT is unlike any training course and actually gives them a window into their world,” says Irine Gujabidze, the Head of Marketing of Home Instead Hammersmith, Fulham and Chiswick.

Once the Experience is completed, participants can speak to the hosting team to discuss any questions they may have after the tour.

The Virtual Dementia Tour Bus will be at Parsons Green, SW6, from 11 am to 2 pm, while Hammersmith locals can find the Home Instead team and take part in the virtual tour at St Paul’s Garden, Hammersmith, W14 0QL, from 2:30 to 4 pm.
