When Jack Osmond became Sales Manager of Hamptons International in Fulham, he was following in a family tradition. ‘My grandfather was an estate agent here in the 1950s,’ Jack explains. ‘He worked until he was 75 years-old, by which time my father was an agent too. The property business is definitely in my blood!’

Jack has been at the Fulham branch for a year. ‘Our excellent Sales and Letting team has a fantastic mix of industry experience, local knowledge and enthusiasm. We always strive to give an honest, first-class service along with well thought-out and realistic valuations. Most importantly, we’re available. I know that lack of feedback is a bugbear for clients. When a property is viewed, they want to know what has been said straight away. That’s exactly what we do.

‘My favourite part of being in Fulham is the people. It’s very important that we’re closely involved with the community. Currently, we sponsor Hammersmith and Fulham Rugby Club and we’re also busy planning our annual Christmas Grotto with Santa Claus for the local children.’

Whether upsizing or downsizing, clients do like to stay in Fulham. ‘As agents, that means we can become part of their buying cycle – from renting a property to buying a first flat and moving to a family home,’ says Jack. ‘Recently, someone popped into the office to speak to my colleague Robert Stewart, who has worked in the area for over 34 years. He had bought his first flat through Rob 28 years ago, then traded up and up on Rob’s advice, and had now retired and was planning a round-the-world trip. He just wanted to say thank you.’

That leaves the perennial question for Jack: what’s the state of the market? ‘The fact is that buyers still have an appetite and deals are being done. Values have softened, but that’s relative across the market. So, whether you’re trading up or down, this could be the perfect opportunity to make a move.’
