Man-made sisal from Unnatural Flooring

In over 25 years running The Carpetstore, brothers Clay and Joe Miller have become used to anticipating and responding to the latest fashions in flooring. But the current demand for one particular product has taken even them by surprise.
Manufactured by the British company, Unnatural Flooring, the carpet in question is a man-made alternative to sisal. ‘Out of the blue, a few months ago, we started getting three or four enquiries a day about it,’ explains Clay. ‘Apparently, the range had suddenly begun trending all over Instagram.
‘The trouble with natural sisal is that, if you spill tea, coffee or wine on it, the stain can’t be removed; in contrast, Unnatural’s sisal-look is washable, hard-wearing and totally stainresistant. The carpets are made from woven vinyl, have the same look and feel as sisal and come in a variety of stylish designs. Also, they can be made up into lovely rugs for use outside on patios and decking and are perfect for heavy-traffic restaurants, offices and communal properties. It looks amazing when it’s down.’
Clay and Joe deal with 90% of industry manufacturers, hence they are able to offer the widest possible selection of classic and contemporary carpets as well as made-tomeasure bespoke rugs and stair runners (all are guaranteed to be moth-free) and vinyl, tile and laminate flooring.
‘We have just taken delivery of a brand new collection of Luxury Vinyl Tiles from Invictus,’ adds Clay. ‘Our showroom display stand comes with a large screen, so customers can take a photograph of any room in their home, download it here and scan in a sample tile, and then they’ll be able to see exactly what it looks like in situ.’
