Dr Ayzaaz and Dr Shiraz Akram have worked together since 2009, when Ayzaaz joined his brother at Pure Smiles on Fulham Road. Seven years later, with their family dental practice growing fast, they acquired another premises just a short walk away on New Kings Road.
Today, the original site is a hygiene centre, where experienced hygienists Holly and Kim see patients for treatments such as teeth whitening and air polish stain removal, and the second location is dedicated solely to dentistry.
Every element of the dental care programme, from smile design makeovers to teeth straightening, is underpinned by a commitment to using high-precision digital technology. This allows Ayzaaz and Shiraz much more flexibility when planning procedures, ensures an excellent patient experience and achieves results that, with the correct hygiene plan, will last for years to come.
Over the years, the brothers have built close relationships with their patients and treated generations of the same families. Richard Ward, the award-winning Royal hairdresser and owner of the super-salon Richard Ward Hair and Metrospa in Sloane Square, has been with the practice for 20 years.
‘We literally lived around the corner from Pure Smiles in Fulham Road and, by chance, I also met Ayzaaz socially and really liked him,’ he recalls. ‘At the time, I was looking for a new dentist,
so it was an obvious decision to join, and my wife and children followed me.
‘The whole team is lovely and Ayzaaz and Shiraz are fantastic technicians. I say that from the experience of needing a lot of work: in my 40s, I suffered from horrendous toothaches and required several root canals, and I’ve also had two sets of veneers done.
‘Clearly, they take pride in what they do – I suppose, as patients, we’re walking advertisements for their care and skills – and, as a family, we couldn’t be happier with the service.’
