‘It was a national competition judged by the industry’s most respected figures,’ explains Zamaine Ismail, the ex-Master Barber at Acqua di Parma in Selfridges who opened West and Hunter on the High Road two years ago. ‘The criteria were Concept, Execution, Service Levels and Cutting Methods. It was fantastic to receive the accolade of Barbershop/Grooming Salon of the year and even more so since, compared to the vast majority of our rivals, we are a young, independent business.
‘Of course, winning was a well-deserved acknowledgment for my amazingly talented team – Paul, Shadia, Khush and Rosie – who have worked so hard to support me. We all follow a consistent method and only use the best quality products from Balmain of Paris as well as our own signature brand.’
Providing a tailor-made luxury service, West and Hunter specialises in precision hair cutting, beard grooming, shaving and revitalising skincare and eye facials (it has over 250 5* reviews on Google).
