Mike Lumsden and Stacy Thomerson, the owners of EweMove Chiswick, promise a fresh, straightforward approach to estate agency. ‘There is no upfront payment, we don’t tie clients into a contract and, if someone isn’t 100% happy, we guarantee that they can walk away and not pay a penny,’ explains Stacy.
EweMove was founded in 2013 and operates on a successful franchise model, with over 200 offices in the UK. Mike and Stacy acquired the W4 (and surrounding areas) franchise last year. ‘We have lived in Chiswick – and moved several times within it – for almost 15 years,’ says Stacy.
‘We wanted to work in the area we love and know so well. Of course, there’s nothing like bumping into past and present clients while we’re out and about to ensure that our customer service is always spot-on!’
The couple are the sole point of contact for clients. ‘When you sign up with us, you have our full-time attention – and that’s 24/7 – through the entire buying, selling or letting process,’ says Mike. ‘We use a concierge service, so anyone can call at any time to make an appointment, arrange a viewing or request a valuation. So much is done after 8pm, when people are at home on their computers.’
When it comes to pricing, Mike and Stacy complement their local knowledge with meticulous research, scouring every major platform to pinpoint a realistic sales or letting valuation (a free Hometrack Valuation report is available online).
In addition, they always upgrade their properties to Premium Listings on Rightmove, Zoopla and PrimeLocation, handle the marketing copy and use professional photography (at no charge) and can recommend reputable local legal and surveying businesses.
‘The first meeting with a new client is just so important,’ adds Mike. ‘That’s when you begin a relationship that is built on trust; whether we’re talking about fees or advising how best to showcase their property, we never claim anything that we can’t deliver.’
