Since the business was founded almost 20 years ago, Gasworks London has become W4’s go-to independent central heating, plumbing and boiler maintenance company. In October alone, owner Dave Halpin and his experienced engineers attended 250 installation, repair and servicing jobs in Chiswick.
The twin hallmarks of the Gasworks philosophy are problem-solving expertise and excellent customer service. ‘We do our utmost to deliver consistent high quality results,’ explains Dave. ‘We fully appreciate the frustration and inconvenience of suddenly having no heating or hot water and we pull out all the stops to resolve problems as speedily as possible. For example, we get to 95% of reported boiler breakdowns on the same day.
‘Also, I am still personally involved with every job. I’ve got an amazing team which has been with me for many years, but that way I can ensure that everything is done to the high standards that I would expect in my own home.’
Dave firmly believes that customer service should mean more than simply turning up and resolving a technical issue. ‘Our reputation has always been built on a friendly, personal approach – a smile goes with every job that we do,’ he says. ‘I’d like to think that’s why so many of our call-outs come from word-of-mouth recommendation.
‘We’re based locally, available to deal with emergencies most days until 10pm and our pricing structure is transparent. Unlike some companies we don’t charge an upfront fee and, if a repair only takes us five minutes to complete, then we won’t charge for the hour. I’m proud of the level of trust that we’ve built with customers over the years. The best thing about our work is making people happy!’
