Jane Dyson, a mother to six from Chiswick, has mastered the art of professional re-invention. Having founded her own promotional company, which she ran for 20 years, Jane then sold it to a PLC and joined the Board.
Five years later, she swapped corporate life for a career as a sought-after Colour and Image Consultant with House of Colour, working from her own studio near the Business Park. Now, using her styling expertise and experience, Jane has identified a gap in the market and launched an exciting new online brand: huh! – handbags under a hundred pounds.
‘I began to find the corporate world too insular,’ recalls Jane. ‘At heart, I’m a people person and I felt wasn’t being true to myself, so I knew it was time for change. I had my colours and style analysed 15 years ago and it has truly been a “gift for life.” It has helped me to dress effortlessly with style, save money and time and celebrate individuality that is authentic to me.
‘So, when I was looking for a career change, that was the spark of inspiration. I applied to become a House of Colour stylist and I’ve now owned the franchise for Chiswick, Barnes, Kew and Richmond for three years.’
The concept for huh! handbags under a hundred pounds evolved from Jane’s House of Colour consultancy. ‘When clients learn about their colours and clothing personality, we give them permission to be their true selves. They then have the confidence to purchase an item in one of their ‘wow’ colours and handbags help them to express who they are.
‘I’m launching huh! handbags with 12 styles – from clutch to classic and crossover to rucksack – and something for special occasions and everyday use. The bags are Italian leather, the portfolio boasts 54 delightful colours and prices range from £20 to£99.’
